MEET THE QUILT ARTIST: I have been quilting since 1974 and specializing in Hawaiian quilts since 1995. My Ohana (family) are divided up between those living in Hawaii and those living in Florida. A son, daughter in law, grandson and granddaughter, plus many extended family and friends are living in Hawaii. The remainder of the family, daughters, grandson's, a cute dachshund named Maxie and a dear husband - not specifically listed in order of importance - are living in Florida.

In the past, I wrote articles on material and Civil war patterns that were published monthly in a re-enactment magazine called Black Powder. Articles on such topics as applique and hand quilting were published in The Applique Society newsletter. Quilt items were featured in Belle Armoire magazine.

I have been teaching and demonstrating quilting to such organizations as the Police Athletic League, Girl Scouts of America, Manatee - Palmetto and Myakka Historical Society, Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, quilt shops and quilt guilds. As an award winning quilter, my quilts have been displayed at the Kona Coffee Festival 2005 quilt contest (Big Island - Hawaii), Robert Kaufman Quilt Quest 2005, Quilt Quest of New Jersery 2005 and Misty Mountain Quilt Fest (Georgia) 2005, NQA 2006 (Ohio), Hawaii Quilt Guild at the Honolulu Academy of Arts 2006, Manatee Patchworkers (Florida) Quilt Shows 2001-2006, Friendship Knot (Florida) Quilt Show 2007, The Applique Society (Florida) Quilt Show 2007and Manatee Players 2006-2007.
